Mgmt. of Neurological & Neurosurgical Patient
This is a 4 hour course that deals with the care of the post neuro surgical patients. ICP monitoring, ventricular drains and abnormal signs and symptoms will be covered. This course provides an overview of the most frequently used pharmacologic interventions used in management of neurological patients.
The underlying physiologic cerebral dynamics and intracranial concepts are discussed. Nursing management of intracranial hypertension is described, as well as the management of patients undergoing neurosurgical procedures.
Nursing management of patients with selected alterations of the neurological system is reviewed.
Please Note: Students who arrive after the 15 minute grace period will NOT be allowed to attend the course.
Professional attire/scrubs are expected to be worn when attending any Flex Ed course.
