Acute Myocardial Infarction
This course is designed to give an overview of the care and management of the patient who has suffered an acute Myocardial Infarction(MI). Focus will be placed on the pathophysiologic changes that occur during an acute MI as well as differentiating the various types of myocardial infarction (based on location). The prevalence, risk factors, signs/symptoms and diagnosis of an acute MI will also be presented. Potential complications associated with an acute MI (including cardiogenic shock) as well as medical/pharmaceutical interventions will be discussed.
Please Note: Students who arrive after the 15 minute grace period will NOT be allowed to attend the course.
Professional attire/scrubs are expected to be worn when attending any Flex Ed course.
