Leadership Skills for Healthcare Professional-Prime
For Prime Healthcare Employees Only -
This course will review key concepts of Emotional Intelligence, as well as how to apply Emotionally Intelligent traits to key nursing leadership skills. These skills include effective communication with all members of the healthcare team, as well as coaching and mentoring skills.
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
1. Explain the definition of Emotional Intelligence and why it is so important for personal and professional success.
2. Assess Emotional Intelligence utilizing a simple screening tool.
3. Analyze the impact of emotions when making decisions.
4. Express thoughts and feelings appropriately in stressful or ambiguous situations.
5. Relate personal practice to the organization's nursing vision.
6. Identify team behaviors known to produce better performance and improved outcomes.
Please Note: Students who arrive after the 15 minute grace period will NOT be allowed to attend the course.
Professional attire/scrubs are expected to be worn when attending any Flex Ed course.
