Mock Code Blue Scenarios

This in-service is designed to empower hospital personnel to confidently and efficiently deliver a high quality resuscitation response. Flex Ed joins the American Heart Association and the Joint Commission in recommending that hospitals provide ongoing resuscitation training to instill muscle memory into the resuscitation response. In-hospital cardiac arrest significantly contributes to overall mortality in hospitals. Mock code blues aim to improve staff response times, confidence and most importantly team performance. Improvements will increase patient survival and neurological outcomes. The recommended format is to run an actual mock code scenario in an unoccupied patient room with a debrief after. The debrief will include areas for improvement, and education on any deviations from the AHA 2020 BLS and ACLS guidelines. The in-service can also be conducted in an educational format. In this situation, the instructor will walk the participants through the appropriate BLS and ACLS Algorithms. The format will be determined by each facility for each unit.

Please Note: Students who arrive after the 15 minute grace period will NOT be allowed to attend the course.
