PALS Instructor Course

***This class REQUIRES prior affiliation with an approved American Heart Association Training Center and completion of this course DOES NOT entitle the participant to affiliation with Flex Ed's American Heart Association's Training Center***

Students must contact the Flex Ed AHA Training Center Coordinator, Amanda Wagner, prior to enrolling in this course.

****Complete payment of all associated fees and submission of completed paperwork is due no later than 2 weeks prior to the course. Individuals who fail to make payment and who do not meet the outlined prerequisites will not be allowed to attend the course.****

The AHA designed the PALS Instructor course to prepare individuals to become PALS Instructors. By the end of the PALS Instructor Course, instructor candidates will be able to teach an PALS course using the video and lesson maps that are part of the PALS course instructor materials. Candidates will also be able to use the testing materials to conduct skills testing.

Instructor Course Prerequisites:

1. Current AHA PALS Provider Card - front and back submitted to Flex Ed with
Registration.

2. Outside Applicants: Signed letter of Affiliation from an AHA Training Center
(Any Instructor candidate who is not aligned with a Training Center is not
authorized to act as an AHA Instructor and cannot attend a Flex Ed sponsored
Instructor Course.)
Inside Applicants: Candidates seeking Training Center affiliation with Flex
Ed must be a current Educational Service Provider with Flex Ed. Please
contact the Flex Ed Training Center Coordinator (TCC), Amanda Wagner, for
additional requirements.

3. Completed Instructor Application (must be signed by TC)

4. Certificate of completion of online AHA PALS Essentials Course

5. Payment of all required fees 2 weeks prior to the scheduled date of the
instructor course.

Please Note: Students who arrive after the 15 minute grace period will NOT be allowed to attend the course.
Professional attire/scrubs are expected to be worn when attending any Flex Ed course.
